Etsy fee calculator: your real profit after fees and US duty

Enter a sale and see every Etsy fee, what lands in your account and your profit. If your shop is outside the US, it also shows a US order side by side, with the import duty Etsy now makes you prepay, so you can see whether US sales still make money.

Fine-tune (duty rate, DDP label fee, exchange rate, target margin)

The exchange rate is only used for the $0.20 listing fee, the $100 Offsite Ads cap and Japan's $0.30 fixed fee. It's a rough rate: type today's if you want it exact.

Why US orders cost non-US shops more

Since 9 July 2026, Etsy makes shops outside the US prepay US import duty on physical orders. Duty is a percentage of the item price, and every Etsy percentage fee is charged on the full price too. So a US sale can make far less than a home sale at the same price. On a £30 item with 15% duty, the duty alone is £4.50, before the higher international postage.

The calculator shows both orders side by side and the US price that hits your target margin. To set US prices for a whole shop at once, use the US price checker, then set them with Etsy's US-specific pricing.

How to pay less in Etsy fees

  • Watch renewals. Every auto-renewal costs $0.20, so turn auto-renew off on listings that haven't sold in a year.
  • Price shipping honestly. Etsy takes 6.5% of shipping too, so "free shipping" only moves the fee into the item price.
  • Bill in your bank currency. Listing in the same currency as your bank account avoids the 2.5% conversion fee.
  • Price Offsite Ads in. Under $10,000 a year you can opt out. Above it you can't, so build 12% into the items most likely to sell through ads.
