Questions people ask

How much is PayPal's fee on $100?

For a PayPal Checkout payment, 3.49% + $0.49 = $3.98, so you receive $96.02. For a goods and services payment sent to your PayPal email, 2.99% = $2.99. From a buyer outside the US, add 1.5%.

How do I make the buyer cover the PayPal fee?

Ask for the amount the calculator shows under "Ask for". It adds the fee so that, after PayPal takes it, you receive the full amount. Some card networks and states limit surcharges on card payments, so check before you add a fee line on invoices.

Why does PayPal charge a fixed fee?

The fixed part ($0.49 on most payments) is charged once per payment. On small payments it is a large share: on a $5 payment, PayPal Checkout takes $0.66, or 13%.

Do eBay sales pay PayPal fees?
