US import duty for Etsy sellers in Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan
Every parcel you send to a US buyer now pays US duty, whatever its value, and Etsy makes you prepay it. How much extra depends on where the item was made. The US checker now covers all seven countries.

Work out my US prices freeThe extra US tariff by country
- Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore: normal rate +12.5%.
- Malaysia, Indonesia: normal rate +10%.
- Taiwan: 10% in total, or the normal rate if that's higher. It's a floor, like the EU.
These are the Section 301 tariffs in force since 24 July 2026. Steel, aluminium, copper and other Section 232 goods are covered by separate tariffs instead.
Total duty on common Etsy items

| Silver jewellery (5%) | 17.5% | 15% | 10% |
| Ceramic mugs (9.8%) | 22.3% | 19.8% | 10% |
| Cotton T-shirts (16.5%) | 29% | 26.5% | 16.5% |
Normal rates are starting estimates from the US tariff schedule. Confirm your exact code at hts.usitc.gov. The rate follows where the item was made, not where you ship from.
How to set US prices
- Open the free checker and choose your country under where your goods are made. Prices can be entered in VND, THB, PHP, SGD, MYR, IDR or TWD.
- Let it suggest a tariff code from your listing text, or enter your own.
- Add what your label or courier charges for prepaying duty, if anything. It's per parcel, so bundles cost less per item.
- Set the result as the US price for each listing and variation. How US-specific pricing works on Etsy.
The new price is more than "price plus duty" because duty and Etsy's fees are both charged on the higher US price.
Common questions
Can my US buyer pay the duty on delivery? Not on Etsy. Since 9 July 2026 non-US shops must prepay it with a DDP label. DDP labels explained.
Is there still a duty-free limit for small parcels? No. US duty-free entry under $800 ended for every country on 29 August 2025.
Do Malaysian and Indonesian textiles pay less? Some textiles have a quota at a lower rate for three years. Ask a customs broker whether your goods qualify before pricing on it.
