# IEEPA tariff refund checker

The Supreme Court struck down the IEEPA tariffs on 20 February 2026, and US Customs is paying the money back with interest. Whether you get yours depends on who imported the goods and how old each entry is. Some deadlines are running out now.

Who paid the extra tariff when the goods came into the US?

## Check every entry, with deadlines

If you were the importer of record, list your entries below, or paste a CSV exported from the ACE portal or from your broker. Columns we look for: entry number, entry type, entry summary date, liquidation date (blank if not liquidated) and the IEEPA duty paid. **Nothing is uploaded.** It all runs in your browser.

The sample rows are made up. Replace them with yours, or choose a file:

## The three routes

| Your entry | What to do | Deadline |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Not liquidated yet | Claim in CAPE (ACE portal) | None yet, but file soon |
| Liquidated in the last 80 days | Claim in CAPE | 80 days after liquidation |
| Liquidated 81 to 180 days ago | File a protest (CBP Form 19 or ACE) | 180 days after liquidation |
| Liquidated over 180 days ago | Final: only a court can reopen it | Court of International Trade, within 2 years |

Informal entries (usually goods under $2,500) are treated as liquidated on the day they were made, so their 80-day window is short. Warehouse entries (types 21 and 22) are claimed on the withdrawal entries instead.

## Before you can claim

- **Check you were the importer of record.** It's the name in box 30 of the entry summary (CBP Form 7501). If a carrier was, they claim for you.
- **Open an ACE portal account** and add a US bank account for ACH refunds. CBP doesn't post cheques and holds refunds with no ACH details. [How to set up ACH refunds](https://importdutycalc.com/tariff-refund-ach-setup).
- **Pull your entry list** for February 2025 to February 2026, with liquidation dates. Your broker can send this.
- **File a CAPE declaration** yourself or through the broker that filed the entries. Refunds arrive as one ACH payment about 70 to 100 days after you file.
- **Diary every protest deadline.** A missed 180-day deadline usually can't be fixed.

Refunds received in 2026 may be taxable income if you deducted the tariffs as a cost in 2025. Ask your accountant.
